As I travel across the country, meeting hundreds of kids and teens of all walks of life, I see how complicated the world is out there for our youth. Classroom, after classroom, story after story, I hear the struggles in the hearts of our youth today. Their emotions and confusion about life run deep and impact them more than we often realize.

Just the other day I was working with some kids in an alternative school and heard 2 powerful Imagine stories, “Imagine…trying to commit suicide 5 times and not succeeding at that either.” And another young girl, “Imagine…the police coming to your door and arresting both of your parents for murder.” Yes, these are not the norm, but the stories are vast and range from losing a pet, to moving, to drug addiction. Did you know that 50% of kids go through a traumatic experience before age 17. Yes, challenges are more prevalent than we think, and we can’t ignore this anymore. It’s a new world and a new generation, we have to give kids an opportunity to speak their truth and learn to be their best selfs in the world, regardless of their circumstances.

The Imagine Project gives kids and teens a voice for positive change in their lives, a chance to let go and imagine a new story in their future. Bring The Imagine Project to your school or youth organization. Contact us at dianne@theimagineproject.com.
