Bringing The Imagine Project to your classroom is a powerful process that kids love. The stories kids share can be more common experiences such as losing a pet, moving, or even someone making fun of them. Sometimes their stories can be deeper and more profound such as difficulties in their family, loss, or bullying. We recommend that parents are told in advance that their children will be writing about stories in their lives that might make them feel somewhat vulnerable while writing. Below is sample letter you can use to inform parents you will be using The Imagine Project to help kids find a voice, write about something difficult that has happened to them, and imagine a new story in it’s place.
